About Central VA Photography Svcs - CentralVAphoto
While preparing for a career as a critical care nurse, Brian Lewis first studied photography in the mid 80's for a course in 'Medical Media Production.' Later commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy, his travels took him to six continents, always with camera in hand. With a photojournalistic style that faithfully captures the unique nature of each encounter, his images are flavored only by the smiles and laughter, toils and triumphs of the subjects involved. He is well known for his team approach to image development, incorporating a client's vision directly into the photographic process as a means to personalize each shoot.
Brian's better half, Liz, handles the business of the business. A Virginia native with strong ties to the real estate and animal rescue communities, she has a unique ability to communicate the pros and cons of various job options, such as aerial photography or distant travel.

From the start, we were inspired by the creativity that Brian contributed to our boat show, and the willing spirit with which he embraced our most 'imaginative' ideas. Brian was able to produce vivid and energetic photography through his attentive nature to space and lighting. Always with an eye on the perfect shot, and, yet, never obtrusive.

We would recommend Brian to anyone who is looking for a talented, professional photographer who is a joy to work with and has the ability to put clients, exhibitors and attendees at ease.

“Brian has been kind enough to volunteer his skills and talents to the SPCA on several occasions giving us great photos of some of our events. He photographed our largest fundraiser, the 2012 Critter Ball, as well as our Dogs & Cats Around Town fundraiser and the Eastminster Dog Show. In addition to photographing our fundraising events, he has photographed several of our adoptable cats and dogs, often dressed in various costumes (the animals are costumed, not Brian), for our monthly adoption specials. Photographing an animal in costume takes great patience, skill and a fantastic sense of humor…three things Brian possesses.”

“When my parents were in town earlier in the Fall, they commented that they didn’t have any good pictures of me and my fiance’. Brian came to our home and photographed the two of us, as well as our less than cooperative cats! Contrary to the feline displeasure, we were quite pleased with the photos and my parents were thrilled! It made for a great Christmas present.”

“Brian took the Christmas card photo this year of me and my dog, Sophia, and I just love it! I’ve had lots of compliments on the photo and I am so happy with it! I’m already starting on matching outfits for me and Sophia to wear in next year’s photo! Thanks Brian!!”
