I was shooting Trawlerfest 2013 in Anacortes, Washington when the Editor of PassageMaker Magazine asked me to photograph this magnificent yacht for an upcoming article. Originally built in 1915 as a fishing boat under sail, she was twice refitted with new engines and refined to showboat condition. Though her mast is now vestigial, her massive, sonorous, single-cylinder first engine remains, alongside modern diesels. Sadly, her owner passed away shortly after the article was published, as did the author of the article, Bob Lane. They are missed...
